The Hwei-Lan Dancer Troupe, established in 1998, is an ensemble of indigenous peoples from across Taiwan, including Hualien, Taitung, Pingtung, Kaohsiung, and Chiayi, who were drawn to Tainan for education, work, marriage, or to establish a new home. They are joined by non-indigenous members who share a deep passion for indigenous cultures. The troupe is officially registered as a performing arts group with the Culture Affairs Bureau of the Tainan City Government. It is known for its regular performances across Taiwan and has been invited to represent the country at major arts festivals in Japan, the United States, Nepal, Korea, China, Turkey, Singapore, and Australia.
