Founded in Tainan, Taiwan, Xin-Sheng-Dai Dance Organization embraces the spirit of “Youth, Vitality, and Innovation.” The organization has long been dedicated to dance education, the preservation and transmission of local culture, interdisciplinary artistic collaboration, and international cultural exchange. Drawing inspiration from Taiwan’s rich and diverse folk traditions, the organization brings dance into dialogue with different art forms, developing a distinctive performance style that reflects the cultural character and creative energy of Taiwan.

Over the years, Xin-Sheng-Dai Dance Organization has continued to explore new possibilities for transforming Taiwan’s traditional folk performance troupes and temple parade arts (Yizhen) into contemporary dance productions. Distinctive Taiwanese traditions such as Ba Jia Jiang (Eight Generals), Electronic-Techno Third Prince (Dianyin San Taizi), and Twelve Po Jie (Twelve Grannies) have been reimagined through choreography, music, costume design, theatrical presentation, and contemporary performance. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, the organization brings together traditional folk culture, dance, and diverse performing arts, preserving the cultural spirit and local identity of these traditions while opening new possibilities for presenting them on the contemporary stage.

Since participating in the inaugural Nanying International Folklore Festival in 1996, Xin-Sheng-Dai Dance Organization has remained closely connected with the festival for three decades, engaging with artists and cultural groups from around the world and growing alongside the festival throughout its history. From deep roots in local communities to interdisciplinary creation, and from cultural transmission to international exchange, the organization continues to bring together dancers of different generations, ensuring that Taiwan’s folk culture is not only preserved, but also renewed and carried forward through creativity and cultural dialogue.
