Founded in 1999, “Zen Wu Dance Theater” was co-founded by co-founded by Ms. Liang Yen-Fang, a renowned dancer in Taiwan, and Professor Gu Zhe-Cheng of the Department of Dance at the Tainan University of Technology. Over the years, the group has been upholding the spirit of originality, aiming to develop new forms of Taiwanese choreography and performing arts, as well as exploring local cultural characteristics and integrating them into their creations. The group has performed hundreds of shows in Malaysia, five major cities in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Singapore, and Japan, etc.

Zen Wu Dance Theater releases new productions every year, which are highly appreciated and well received by various communities. With its unique creative style, the group has been honored with the Nanying Art Award and the Outstanding Performing Arts Group Award, making it one of the finest performing arts groups in Southern Taiwan with a strong sense of originality and creativity.
