Founded in 2005 by the Director Lin Yun-Ci (Ms. Xiao Zhu), “Fong Tian Shen Gu” consists of drumming teachers and members interested in drumming from various regions. The group originated in Tainan and adopted the new name “Fong Tian Shen Gu” after being inspired by Dajia Mazu in 2022. They have been invited to represent Taiwan to perform in Europe (Czech Republic), Japan, and China (Xiamen), and have performed with singers Dwagie and Tony Wu Jun-Hong.

In 2024, the group was invited by TTV to participate in the annual Chinese New Year’s Eve television special “Super Star”, and performed at Taipei Arena with Aquaman. They have also been invited by the professional basketball team, Tainan TSG GhostHawks, and the professional baseball team, Uni-President 7-ELEVEn Lions, to perform at their games’ opening shows. The group’s repertoire combines traditional Taiwanese culture with creative taiko drumming, with the goal of spreading goodness and happiness through music and drums.
