A glance, a gesture, a drumbeat—each could be the beginning of a story.

Sri Lanka, an island in the Indian Ocean, has developed distinctive traditions of dance and rhythm. Sarasavi Dance Academy from Sri Lanka will bring expressive movements and compelling rhythms to introduce audiences to the world of South Asian performing arts.

From expressive eyes and intricate hand gestures to footsteps closely connected with the music, Sri Lankan dance offers much to discover. Through demonstrations and stories shared at close range, audiences will see how traditional dance connects with local life, festivals, and cultural memory—and how movement can tell such rich stories.

You do not have to travel to South Asia to experience this remarkable art. Bring your imagination and join us in Tainan to discover the rhythm, expression, and vitality of Sri Lankan dance!
