The Guhit Band is a reggae band formed by Filipino migrant workers residing in Tainan and Kaohsiung. Through the liberating and warm vibes of reggae music, they sing of their longing, hopes, and solidarity while living in a foreign land.
By day, the members work in factories; by night, they rediscover their passion and sense of self through music. Starting from impromptu jam sessions in parks, on beaches, and in their dormitories, they have gradually made their way onto the stages of major music festivals, becoming one of the most prominent migrant worker bands in Taiwan.
In the Filipino language, Guhit means "to draw." The band aspires to depict life stories through their melodies, transcending linguistic and cultural barriers with music while spreading the spirit of love and peace. Fusing reggae rhythms, soulful vocals, and engaging audience interaction, their performances create a radiant and vibrant live atmosphere, allowing more people to appreciate the beauty of multiculturalism through music.
