Salingoy Bicolandia Dance Company–PFDS SDO Naga City 薩林戈伊比科爾舞團

Grounded in folk-dance research, the company combines song, traditional steps, bamboo rhythms, and regional costumes to present the Philippines' diverse cultural heritage.

★ In 2026, Salingoy Bicolandia Dance Company was invited to both the Yilan International Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival and Nan Ying International Folklore Festival, bringing the culture of the Bicol Region to two major international folk-cultural exchange platforms in Taiwan.

Salingoy Bicolandia Dance Company developed under the promotion and guidance of the Bicol Chapter of the Philippine Folk Dance Society. Since 2001, the Bicol Chapter has worked to preserve and promote Philippine traditional culture through folk-dance workshops, training programs, competitions, and performances. Salingoy Bicolandia, as a city-based performing group, transforms research findings and documented folk-dance materials into stage productions, introducing audiences to traditional dance cultures from across the Philippines.

【Performance Highlights】
The company places strong emphasis on reconstructing steps and movements from documented folk-dance sources in order to preserve traditional forms as faithfully as possible. Performances often combine singing and dance and make effective use of castanets, tambourines, bamboo-pole percussion, and other strongly rhythmic elements. Costumes include Maria Clara dress, traditional Barong attire, and regional clothing from different parts of the Philippines. Through a varied repertoire, the group presents the country’s rich local cultures while using international performance to convey a spirit of peace and cultural exchange.
